DevTrack/Perforce Integration links DevTrack issues with Perforce jobs and enables DevTrack and Perforce to work together seamlessly to deliver a more complete software development solution. DevTrack/Perforce Integration is developed using the Perforce Client API. Using the Perforce Client API provides a much tighter integration with Perforce, and is much easier to configure and use compared to using the Perforce Defect Tracking Integration (P4DTI) module. The integration synchronizes data between DevTrack issues and Perforce jobs. New Perforce jobs can be automatically created from existing DevTrack issues, and changes in DevTrack issues can be automatically replicated to Perforce based on the pre-defined rules. The synchronization can be bi-directional. New DevTrack issues can be auto created from existing Perforce jobs, and changes in Perforce jobs can be auto replicated to DevTrack. From DevTrack, reports can be generated to report the related Perforce jobs/changes and affected files. DevTrack workflow rules can be extended to Perforce. When the synchronization causes DevTrack issue to violate workflow rules, the DevTrack issue can be automatically forwarded to the appropriate user. Synchronization can also be rejected if it violates workflow rules.
